I'm was responsible for the day to day delivery of Operational staff, studios and Outside Broadcast facilities for all BBC Radio requirements in Scotland. This included the period in the run up to and including the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014 and Scottish Independence Referendum for all BBC Radio outlets I also strategically plan and implement major capital projects for the provision of Radio technical facilities across 14 production sites in Scotland.
As audio technologist I am responsible for the procurement and advice of broadcast audio equipment to production and operations teams across Scotland. I work across Radio, TV and Post Production and lead large and small projects from initial capital bids to completion.
As news technology manager I was responsible for the delivery of new workflows and supporting technologies across multiple BBC sites in Scotland. I was principal News technologist on the multimillion pound move of the BBC's Scottish headquarters in Glasgow to Pacific Quay. This delivered desktop video and audio editing to all journalistic desktops and transformed the newsrooms from a tape based workflow to a fully integrated shared content non linear editing and play out systems.
