John has been involved for many years in Civil/Structural/Piping/CAD Eng. and Eng. Applications in a variety of fields, Energy, Chemical, Petrochemical, Mining etc. he has performed assignments ranging from Eng. design/detailing, Building, Architectural, Steel, Concrete, Piping and UG Piping to coordinating, supervising and providing design calculations at Rand Mines to managing the Project Automation Technologies (PAT) discipline group for Hatch in South Africa. Since 1988, he's been involved with CAD Engineering, App' support, Integration and Management, mostly in the Oil and Gas industry using Autodesk, Intergraph, PDMS & Bentley Systems. Over the last 30 years specializing in PDS, Microstation, AutoCAD, Frameworks, Piping Modeler, Siteworks & SmartPlant 3D. John has trained people on 2D and 3D and then written user training manuals and provided support and Supervision for the remainder of the projects. He completed courses on Piping Modeler, Modeldraft, Frameworks Plus, Siteworks, Designer and Basic Administration courses on SmartPlant 3D. He joined HATCH Australia in 2005 as a general PDS/SP3D Administrator & writing new builds for Frameworks Plus, was transferred to South Africa in 2007 as the Hub practice Lead for PAT, (IT Manager-Applications for Africa). Was employed by WPK in Atyrau, Kazakhstan as Engineering Design Systems Coordinator (PIM) and then WP in London. He was also employed by WPK as the CSA Design Lead/Discipline Application Specialist on the SGE CAR Project. He has just finished in Almaty as the CSA Design Lead/DAS for Buildings on the TCO Future Growth Project. Johns career has been progressive in a supervisory and a managerial capacity, He gained a BSc Hons in IT and Management, is a Chartered IT Professional, a Member of the British Computer Society & Fellow of the Institution of Analysts and Programmers.

Back home again for a well deserved rest …and of course the intervention of Covid-19, However I am now available to do work again and also at home if preferred during this "Stay at Home" period.
Returned to KPJV Almaty to help with cleaning up Models prior to handover to Client; Clashes, Database Links etc Also staff training on Microstation v8i and Customization, SP3D training and helping HVAC to finalize Ducting supports by HILTI.
Decided I needed to have a long break and be with my family for a Change. May start looking around again after April 2019
