Throughout my professional career, I've handled a variety of responsibilities in the sports communications field, including: media and public relations; book, magazine, newspaper, website, and press release writing; editing; story idea and development; stat keeping; research; and broadcasting. Those experiences have come primarily as assistant sports information director at Boston University; media relations director/assistant athletic director at Harvard University; and editor at H.O. Zimman, Inc. Publishing; as well as a freelance writer for The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald, Associated Press, and as co-author of two books (Numbelievable, 2007; The 3rd H Book of Harvard Athletics, 2014).
• Responsible for coordinating, contributing to, and overseeing production and approval of all editorial content in several of company’s sports publications, including the Official Super Bowl Game Program and Official Pro Bowl Program produced for the National Football League • Editor of several publications for the National Baseball Hall of Fame, including their Yearbook, Almanac, and Memories & Dreams, the Hall of Fame’s member magazine that is produced six times per year • Editor of Pro Football Hall of Fame's annual Yearbook • Assistant editor of The Masters Journal and Official US Open Tennis Magazine • Editor of several other publications for company’s clients, including the New England International Auto Show, Boston Flower Show, and 2012 and 2016 Democratic National Convention programs
• Co-author of two books: Numbelievable (Triumph, 2007) and The Third H Book of Harvard Athletics (2014) • Have written game stories for several college sporting events, including the Harvard-Yale Regatta, the Eastern Sprints, and the NCAA Baseball Championships for The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald, and The Associated Press
Responsible for coordinating the media coverage and general publicity for Harvard’s 41-sport varsity athletics program; duties included: • Developing and maintaining contact with local, regional, and national media outlets • Pursuing internal and external media coverage of Harvard athletes and teams • Writing, editing, layout, and design of media guides and game programs • Feature writing for athletic department publications, including The Harvard Football News, The Harvard Men’s Basketball News, and The Varsity Club’s News & Views of Harvard Athletics • Primary sport contact for football, men’s basketball, men’s and women’s fencing, men’s and women’s heavyweight crew, and men’s and women’s lightweight crew (duties include producing media guide and game program, game notes, press releases, coordinating media coverage, upkeep of statistics and team information, etc.) • Maintenance of — and production of content for — athletic department’s official website
