Little did I know how things would change when I sat down at the old teletype in the seventh grade. I was hooked, completely and totally. My science fair project quickly changed from the deflection of atomic particles to a program on orbital mechanics. My insatiable curiosity and love of science had met its perfect match. Not long after that, I got a job working Saturday mornings as a ward clerk in the radiology department of the local hospital. Computers and healthcare quickly meshed and has continued ever since. My main passion is still programming, but over the years I’ve done a bit of everything – system and database administration, networking, security (SOC 2 audits are not fun), hardware installation and support to name a few. My work in healthcare has kept me grounded in the human side of things. From working directly with patients, auditing charts, or just pouring through masses of billing data you realize no matter how many lines of code, layers of protocols, micro-services, or miles of networks there’s always a person at the other end of the system. Specialties: .NET, ASP.NET, C#, Linux systems administration, data transformation Experience with: Security, SOC 2 audits, medical formats and procedures (codes, 83x, HL7)
