Read law at Multimedia University and completed my pupillage at Messrs. Zul Rafique & Partners. I was then admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2020. As a law student, I enjoyed participating in various mooting competitions such as NAMCO, LAWASIA and the Foreign Direct Investment Moot. During my free time, I volunteer to train mooters for various moot competitions both at national and international levels. Currently, I practice as a Senior Legal Associate in the Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) as well as the Knowledge Management, Research & Training Department at Messrs. Zul Rafique & Partners. In my current role, I conduct extensive research across various areas of laws, ensuring that our firm is well-informed and up-to-date on latest changes in the law. With a keen interest in sustainability issues, I am actively involved in research on latest regulatory changes within the ESG framework, assisting with ESG compliance talks, and executing internal sustainability initiatives. My responsibilities also include drafting articles and case summaries, which aids in enhancing our firm's knowledge base and client communication. Additionally, I manage legal and regulatory updates, ensuring that our firm remains compliant with the latest developments. I manage legal directory submissions, showcasing our firm's expertise and accomplishments. Furthermore, I support business development efforts, contributing to our firm's growth and market presence. My role requires a blend of analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication, all of which I have sharpen to deliver high-quality results. I support the firm’s legal practice through a senior knowledge lawyer function, focusing on high-level legal research, content curation, and firm-wide knowledge management. My work includes monitoring and synthesising legal and regulatory developments across multiple practice areas, preparing client alerts and internal briefings, drafting and reviewing legal articles and case summaries, and ensuring consistency, accuracy, and quality across all knowledge outputs. I am closely involved in legal content strategy and thought leadership initiatives, including spearheading The Brief, the firm’s legal podcast, where I act as host, scriptwriter, producer, and editor. I also organise and facilitate internal and external talks, webinars, and training sessions, and regularly engage with partners and lawyers to translate complex legal developments into practical, client-focused insights. In parallel, I am part of the firm’s Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) practice, where I conduct in-depth research on sustainability and regulatory frameworks, including the Bursa Malaysia Sustainability Reporting Guide, ISSB Standards, the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, and Malaysia’s National Sustainability Reporting Framework. I support the preparation of ESG compliance opinions for listed and non-listed companies and contribute to ESG-related publications and client materials. My role further extends to business development and profile-raising initiatives, including legal directory submissions, firm branding and collateral, social media strategy, and client events. Overall, I operate at the intersection of law, strategy, and communication, supporting both the firm’s technical excellence and its market positioning.
I practised primarily in construction law, supporting contentious matters through detailed legal research, analysis of complex factual matrices, and case law review. My work included preparing trial documents, and supporting counsel in construction-related disputes, with a focus on accuracy, procedural compliance, and practical outcomes. This role strengthened my grounding in dispute-focused legal analysis and sharpened my ability to translate technical legal issues into clear, structured arguments in support of litigation strategy.
I completed my pupillage with rotations across Corporate Energy & Utilities / Oil & Gas, Construction Dispute Resolution, and Litigation. During this period, I assisted on complex transactional and contentious matters, including regulatory compliance, due diligence exercises, and the preparation of trial documents, gaining early exposure to high-value and technically complex work. I also authored a paper on committal proceedings for monetary judgment defaults, which was published in the CLJ Legal Network Series, reflecting an early interest in legal research, writing, and thought leadership that continues to shape my practice.
