About

I am a degree qualified, Chartered Engineer with approx. 35 years’ experience in the design, installation, operation, management and decommissioning of subsea production equipment and subsea systems. I am currently working as a Lead Subsea Engineer with CNR International. I have also previously worked as a Subsea Engineering Consultant for Vermilion Exploration & Production Ireland Limited (4 months) who are the Operator of the Corrib gas field off Ireland’s west coast. I was responsible for planning and managing subsea work scopes aimed at safeguarding asset integrity and maximising operational uptime across subsea production systems. I have also previously worked as a Senior Subsea Decommissioning Engineer for TAQA (3 years) who are a leading Operator in late-life operations and wide-scale decommissioning. I was involved in all aspects of TAQA’s Subsea Infrastructure Disconnection Project which covered the activities to flush, isolate, disconnect subsea wells and infrastructure, and to remove sections of pipelines, umbilicals and small structures as part of TAQA's overall programme of de-energisation and disembarkation from the fixed host Platforms. In previous roles at TAQA (~12 years) I have been the Subsea Team Lead responsible for the management of all subsea activities on TAQA’s Northern North Sea and Central North Sea assets providing leadership and direction to the Subsea team to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of subsea projects and ensuring all activities are in full compliance with TAQA policies and industry regulatory requirements. In my prior role working as the Subsea Subject Matter Expert/Technical Authority I provided expertise and technical assurance to subsea projects, primarily focusing on front-end project definition. I have previously worked as a Senior Subsea Operations Engineer for Shell in Aberdeen (~ 7 ½ years), where I was responsible for the planning, management and the implementation of subsea intervention work required in support of subsea integrity and construction activities. I have also worked for several Subsea Installation Contractors; specialising in ROV intervention operations and tooling, and pipeline project work (~ 4 years), I have also worked abroad in Italy on a deepwater installation project (~2 years). My career in subsea engineering commenced with a major subsea equipment manufacturer where I was involved in all aspects of the design, manufacture, repair and operation of Xmas trees, Wellhead systems and associated subsea production equipment (~ 6 years).
