About

39 years ago I started my journey into the transportation industry as a trailer mechanic. Doing this while serving honorably in the USMC Reserves 1988-1995. Then in 1994 obtained my CDL to drive professionally. Worked for various trucking companies throughout my career to gain Knowledge and Understanding of different Management styles, types, and personalities. Although my driving career ended before I would have liked it. This opened up new opportunities for me within the management sector of the transportation industry. I first sought a position as recruiting and office help. Quickly got thrown into the full time role as Recruiter and Retention. With duties being added along this journey to include Safety and Compliance. Driver Counseling on job performance and Training. Orientation development and hiring processing of new applicants. While before I started in the office I thought I knew what it took to perform in these areas, however I learned very quickly that I had an extreme amount of materials that I would need to learn at a high rate if I wanted to continue. I viewed this as a personal and professional challenge. With many late nights and professional discussions with others in the industry. I can confidently say today that I am currently learning more every day. While improving my other skills in computers and effective communication with others. Team building and leadership skills were forged while serving in the USMC. These skills have ensured that I set and maintain a high level of proficiency and professional manner. Throughout my driving career I was able to travel and see all the provinces in Canada, parts of Mexico, and all 48 states of America. accumulated over 5,000,000 miles of safe and accident free. By setting this standard for myself I have the ability to communicate to other drivers on a professional level the things that assisted me in getting to this goal. Personal note: I just love transportation and all of the people I have meet along the way. I also want to thank everyone who took the time to explain and teach me new things throughout my career. Those people know who they are because they are to many to list. This is my way of giving back to the younger drivers as to ensure the industry will continue.
