Twenty years in investment management teaches you something that no data science curriculum can; how serious capital thinks, how institutional decisions get made, and why the difference between a good investment and a great one often comes down to discipline and patience. My career has spanned the full investment lifecycle. I have managed fixed income portfolios with $8B in AUM, covered equities and multi-asset class strategies as a research analyst, managed a $95B investment platform as a product manager, and most recently worked at the intersection of portfolio analytics and client strategy. Along the way I completed an MBA and an MS in Applied Business Analytics, both with a 4.0 GPA, building the quantitative foundation to complement what twenty years in the markets already taught me. What I find most compelling now is the space where investment judgment and modern analytics meet. Specifically, how data science, applied with genuine investment context, can help sophisticated active managers identify the right allocator relationships, strengthen their distribution strategy, and grow AUM without compromising what makes them distinctive. I bring something uncommon to that challenge. The ability to sit credibly with portfolio managers and speak their language, then build the analytical infrastructure that serves the business around them. A career spanning portfolio management, research, product strategy, and operations means I understand how investment organizations actually work from the inside. A background that includes growing up in the Middle East gives me a cross-cultural perspective that occasionally opens doors others cannot. And a technical toolkit covering Python, R, machine learning, and applied LLMs means the ideas are executable, not just conceptual.
