    My employer Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council provided me the opportunity to work within the charitable heritage tourism sector in the role of Business Manager for the Lissan House Trust, that manage the property Lissan House & Demesne. Within this role I managed the property and the 267 acre estate, covering woodlands, ponds, waterways and corn acred land. Within the brief I successfully secured funding from external sources to enhance the running of the property and for the welfare of volunteers. I successfully ran and managed a large number of profitable events, including a 2 day music festival headlined by Nathan Carter. Within my role I had to manage the commercial operations of the property including restaurant and catering, introducing transformative change management, leading to a greater and profitable use of these assets and the securing of new lease agreements with external users of the estate. I also led, mentored and developed the volunteer team, providing new opportunities of long term employment for two of the team in the private sector and I I nominated a young volunteer and he was successful in being awarded the prize of Heritage Angel NI 2018 - Best Contribution by Young People to a Heritage projectI was also successful in another nomination and Lissan House was awarded as highly commended in the Heritage Angel 2018 for the Best Rescue of An Historic Building under £2 million. This skills and experiences gained in this placement role has enhanced and expanded my skill base to work within the private, charitable, volunteer and public sectors.
