Introduced and implemented Building Information Modeling (BIM) capability, tools, and established appropriate infrastructure to support these activities, allowing the Navy to deliver more accurate, higher fidelity designs, faster than traditional methods and furthering Naval mission capabilities. In doing so, project cost was reduced by more than $2M dollars in FY21, with continued projected cost savings of up to 35% per project into the future. Conducted research, design, testing, and analysis for mechanical bracket designs pertaining to the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) and the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV). Introduced the concept of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in 2009 and began implementing Autodesk Revit software into the design process. To date, the organization still heavily uses BIM software tools in all their design and planning processes. Interpreted architectural data gathered from field inspections, on-site inspections, site surveys, architectural notes, sketches, blueprints, and photographs to create required technical documentation packages. Collaborated with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, and end users to ensure model continuity and customer requirements are met.
