About

I am Chair of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough ICB. I have acted as a senior adviser on issues connected to local government, devolution and public service reform, working as a Non Executive Director of the Northamptonshire Children's Trust and a Senior Adviser to Newton Europe. I was Chief Executive of London Councils, the organisation that represents the 32 London boroughs and the City of London Corporation, from 2007 to 2021. In that role I acted as a focal point for engagement between London local government and Government, the Mayor and wider London public service, business and third sector partners. Previously, I was a Senior Civil Servant working as Director of Local Government Performance and Practice at the former DCLG and, prior to that, ODPM was part of the team that helped establish the Improvement and Development Agency for Local Government (IDeA), where I was Deputy Executive Director and worked for four years. I also spent six years in local government and eleven years with KPMG’s Government Consulting Group. I am a former Chair of the SOLACE Foundation and a former member of the Board of the Leadership Centre for Local Government.
