Hi! I'm JMJ, a full stack engineer who drives technical strategy for highly capable teams of product and infra engineers. Throughout my career I’ve been passionate about using data to uncover hidden truths. Agents will make this more and more autonomous. With self-improving systems writing their own code against benchmarks, we’ll be able to see and understand abstract systems in a way that was never possible before. Outside of work, I enjoy playing electric guitar 🎸 and scuba diving 🤿.
I’m a lead of TLs on Infra Health (analytics, performance and reliability) for a colossal-scale set of software products.
Shortcut provides onsite self-care and wellness perks for workplaces, including haircuts, massages, headshots and mindfulness training.
I led a distributed (international) remote engineering team which delivered web/mobile applications and Developer SDKs for the RAILGUN ecosystem, including the very first scalable encrypted payments system for the Ethereum blockchain. Railgun is an open-source encrypted cryptocurrency wallet known for its innovative 'Proof of Innocence' anti-money laundering protection. The core system uses ZK cryptography (SNARKs) to encrypt payment metadata on Ethereum. As of 2026, the Railgun system has over $4.8 billion in transaction volume and is growing month over month.
Managed a remote team that built 0-1 mobile apps and distributed cloud systems for Bay Area and Boulder CO companies, including Google Ventures-funded startup Cape (acquired by Motorola) and Misty Robotics (acquired by Furhat).
Growth engineering lead that focused on promoting and monetizing Meta Quest VR apps.
