A results driven CFO/GM Finance/Group Financial Controller with a strong strategic, customer and commercial focus. Experienced in corporate and operational financial management including strategy development, board and statutory reporting, P&L financial performance reporting, governance and cost control, budgeting and forecasting, balance sheet management, bid support and customer analytics. With cross industry experience including rail construction, (MTM KXRP), engineering services (Zinfra), utilities (Jemena), FMCG (Cadbury Schweppes), manufacturing (Carter Holt Harvey), education (RMIT), health (NHS London), IT consulting (DXC Oxygen) and broadcasting and media (BBC London). Passionate for developing systems (SAP) and processes and empowering teams to achieve excellence in business deliverables. Working in the North Western Program Alliance including Metro Trains, John Holland Group, Kellog Brown Root and LXRP - managing construction project financial controls and reporting. Seven LXRP projects are underway, at varying stages of delivery with a value of >$1.5bn.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) I was responsible for Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Financial Reporting and Payroll. Key responsibilities included group financial performance reporting, Board analytics and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, management accounts, systems accounting, statutory reporting, external audit, cash flow, tax and balance sheet management.
Reporting to the Managing Director/CEO the scope of the CFO role included management of all finance activities, legal services, procurement, risk and compliance, property and fleet, BU operations financial management with approximately 70 staff. My key focus was to work closely with and support the Managing Director, Operational GMs and board members providing governance and financial advice.
