I am a multiple award-winning writer, producer, and director with substantial motion picture, television, web video, and new media experience. I have executive-level producer, line producer, project management, and production management experience leading teams of up to 500 people on projects with budgets up to $40M CDN. Since 1999, I have overseen as Producer, Line Producer, and/or Production Manager hundreds of projects with an aggregate total budget dollar amount of more than $165M CDN. I am a creator not only in the sense of someone who has ideas, but also a manager in the sense of someone who makes ideas happen. We live in a time when it is hard to speak from the heart. I believe in truth, beauty, freedom, and justice. Integrity, inspiration, creativity, and purpose are much more than just words to me. Life is an endlessly creative experience, and we are shaping ourselves at every moment with every decision we make. Filmmaking is my vocation, a calling that gives voice to who I am and what I want to say. It is a way for me to make meaning and to contribute to the world with love. I love creating memorable characters and telling compelling stories in a business fueled by dreams. I believe the most important skill a Producer can have is the unabashed pursuit of more and greater resources. That said, Producers must have the ability to work with what they have and to do more with less. Writers and Directors must be relentlessly innovative creators, and above all have a unique individual voice. Such a voice, when it is heard, can carry a great deal of power. In addition to running my company, I still work as a freelance Producer, Director, Production Manager, and First Assistant Director. I taught final year post-secondary students in the Film & Video Production program and evaluated their performances in Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production in all crew capacities and creative and technical disciplines. This also included extracurricular lectures on scheduling, budgeting, producing, directing, production management, and assistant directing.
