Develop the strategy for the Devices & Connected Homes strategic category, detailing key priorities for short --, medium and long-term goals, and maximize cost savings without unduly reducing other sources of value, ensuring competitiveness, and mitigating short and long term risks. Drive organizational commitment to savings, investments, innovation, and quality goals by building cross-functional agreements and signoffs from business stakeholders and leadership. Drive agile device sourcing, Category Management strategies that drive value derivation, and cost optimization of the MTN Group connected homes & Devices spend (Smart Feature Phones (3G& 4G), Smartphones (3G4G &5G), Mobile Broadband (4GCAT4-CAT12) MIFIs & CPEs,5G), KYC/POS terminals), IoT devices for connected Homes Strategic sourcing & contract negotiation, preparing and conducting RFx, negotiating and contract with the most appropriate supplier (based on Total cost of ownership, Fit for purpose, quality, delivery, risk) in collaboration with the cross-functional stakeholders (Consumer, Sales and Distribution, IT, Finance, Legal) Drive implementation of specific outcome-based initiatives in sprints to support the category strategy and define explicit quantification of the cost and non-cost benefits these initiatives will achieve. Develop supplier cost models, perform clean sheet analysis, spend analysis, price curves, reverse Engineering, Tear-down, & design to cost initiatives etc. Drive the negotiation discussions with key suppliers' basis market research on global pricing structures & current supplier cost positions Responsible for defining the spend baseline and the evolution of that spend over time by detailing the spend structure by segment, supplier, business unit, and region. Assess historical spending patterns, incorporate them as part of the category strategy process and drive future spending.
Responsible of Operationalizing the device sourcing strategy, which entails end-to-end device TCO management and monitoring of device supplier performance, across MTN 22 Operations, also assist with a group price book negotiation as well as support other business units with the execution of a dual data strategy. Drive agile device sourcing, Category Management strategies that drive value derivation, and cost optimization of the MTN Group Devices spend (Smart Feature Phone (3G& 4G), Smartphone(3G4G &5G), Mobile Broadband (4GCAT4-CAT12) MIFIs & CPEs,5G), KYC/POS terminals). Strategic sourcing & contract negotiation, preparing and conducting RFx, negotiate and contract with the most appropriate supplier (based on Total cost of ownership, Fit for purpose, quality, delivery, risk) in collaboration with the cross-functional stakeholders (Consumer, Sales and Distribution, IT, Finance, Legal). Oversee the execution of annual category sourcing plans through a detailed analysis of contracts/SLAs, spend, usage patterns, future demands, and benchmark data, ensuring full alignment with the organization’s strategic goals. Manage device demand for 22 MTN Operations, and support the business units to meet set KPIs for each calendar year. Collaborates with strategic suppliers and relevant stakeholders to ensure that the best commercial value is negotiated and obtained for the Devices spend.
Working as a key member of the marketing and strategy group to design and implement various VAS and data products . This also involves the sourcing and procurement of at least 1.5 million customized Mobile devices. Duties Development and implementation of devices strategy (direction, sourcing, negotiating and recommendation). Develop purchase forecast for devices, SIMs and Airtime Voucher Cards. Co-ordinate devices and SIM testing and certification. Team Member for the implementation of technologies and applications surrounding devices and SIM cards (UTK). Achievements Team Lead on the successful launch of the first CDMA dual mode Android smartphone in Nigeria. Successfully launch of 64k/128k OMH roaming SIM.
