Education, labor & employment law attorney, experienced litigator and counselor. Licensed in North Carolina and Massachusetts.
I conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations into reports of harassment, discrimination, sexual misconduct, and retaliation against faculty, staff, affiliates, and non-affiliates at Boston University pursuant to University policy as well as state and federal law. This includes collecting information in an efficient and supportive manner, composing a clear final report detailing the information obtained, and applying logical reasoning to make findings of fact and responsibility in accordance with University standards. In addition to formal investigations, I facilitate informal resolution to help prevent behaviors from reoccurring and bridge the gap between intention and impact. I also support the development and delivery of education and prevention programs and work collaboratively with campus partners to promote the EOO mission and build trust with campus constituents.
Employment attorney representing nonprofits, particularly schools and other educational institutions, as well as for-profit corporations. I counsel employers on policy, compliance, governance, and all sorts of workplace issues, including discrimination and harassment claims, school bullying, employment offers/termination of employment relationships. I perform internal investigations into a wide array of employment and school-related issues. I am also a litigator with fifteen years of civil and criminal defense experience.
