About

16+ years experience in Defined Contribution Pensions, mostly with Scottish Widows (Lloyds Banking Group) and latterly with Phoenix (Standard Life). Currently working for Aptia Group and to expand my Defined Benefit knowledge. I am an experienced and dedicated Data Analyst. My most recent years have been spent identifying efficiencies and problem areas within data streams, while communicating needs for projects. Adept at receiving and monitoring data using multiple data streams, generally Excel and Access. I often deal in data mining information and then interacting effectively with colleagues and clients to put forward my findings. I've a proven track record of generating summary documents for senior management for monthly and quarterly audit and compliance reporting. My background is based primarily within Pensions & Development [Scottish Widows] working in Corporate Pensions. Working alongside IFA’s, EBC’s, Account Managers and Corporate Clients (Payroll, Directors & Owners). Working with many different stakeholders has been a constant and is a part of my career that I have most enjoyment with. As a brief history of Pensions life, I started out working in Customer Servicing Teams within Scottish Widows. I generally worked on New Business (creating new policies, new schemes) and Financials (monthly premium allocation, application of transfers and bulk scheme transfers). I excelled on the new business side and therefore moved to concentrate mostly on new scheme set-up and bulk transfer work. My early years were also spent building up relationships within the company, which served me well going forward. After a few years in pension administration I gained promotion into Pension Propositions where I worked as Scheme Pricing Manager, calculating scheme AMC options based on varying factors. At this point, I became heavily involved with Auto-Enrolment. I moved from Pricing into Reporting based functions. Reporting on the financials of our schemes, creating PowerPoint Presentation packs for the Exec Committee and reporting on a raft of differing Group Requirements. This is where I started to move into Data Mining and Analysis. Moving through the Auto-Enrolment cycle, I started to mine into how new business was originally priced, what we received, did we hit our targets, are we in line to achieve expected uplifts and so on. From this information, I would be able to push our future strategy - backed with facts. This continued into my work with Phoenix, working on several large projects where my data mining and reporting were in constant use.
