He has led and supported multi-billion-dollar fundraising, investment and asset management initiatives, with extensive experience spanning China Development Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, UBS and HNA Capital. Responsible for raising funds internationally and domestically in China for HNA Group and its subsidiaries, including companies such as HNA futures (listed on China New OTC market), and leading investment and acquisition projects such as HNA / Glencore International and Chasestone Capital’s A+ round. Building strong relationships with various domestic and multinational banks, securities firms, trust companies and wealth management institutions as well as familiarity with various global public markets including China/HK A/H-Share, NASDAQ, LSE/AIM, SIX and NYSE. Supporting asset management for several of HNA Capital’s multi-billion USD investments, including multiple banks, trust companies, insurance companies, Avolon, Seaco, Didi, Uber, etc, in particular, restructuring exit plans or exploring re-financing opportunities for these various projects. Part of core team in the launch of a new infrastructure fund with Chinese local government, supporting investments around the “One Belt One Road” policy.
Responsible for assessing client risk appetites and marketing UBS products and services to better match client needs, create and maintain trusting long-term relationships with existing clients and potential clients. Prepared investment proposals for potential and existing clients. Gained better more in-depth understanding of various global secondary markets and securities products. Responsible for all administrative affairs in relation to account management and maintenance, payments, record keeping and any other client requests. Responsible for managing credit risk associated with the lending portfolio. Worked with relationship managers and product partners in structuring credit solutions for clients. Responsible for end-to-end business credit analysis including preparing all documentation, in-depth analyses of various risks, and internal reporting to facilitate efficient credit approvals. Worked closely with clients to analyse and scope risk management on currency, bonds, derivatives, commodities (mainly metals), credit limit risk and compliance. Helped drive performance by identifying business opportunities and pursuing deals. Took part in the development of Standard Chartered’s new Branch in Kunming, Yunnan.

Responsible for loan project due diligence, post deal account maintenance and evaluating the risk impact on the overall CDB portfolio. As a client manager responsible for one of the largest local SMEs, successfully sourced and closed a CNY60million Working Capital Loan, independently negotiating pricing, preparing the credit proposal, ensuring all documentation and compliance checks are completed. Key projects: USD 900million syndicated loan in which CDB acted as lead arranger to support the China-Myanmar gas pipeline upstream projects conducted by Daewoo International Corporation. Two power station projects in Cambodia with a total term loan amount of USD 289million. Long-term overseas work experience in Laos. Client Manager for Laos Development Bank (LDB) -- one of the largest commercial/infrastructure banks in Laos. Responsible for the independent appraisal and risk identification of 58 small-medium enterprises (SMEs) in Laos, to which CDB had provided USD 20million in loan financing through Laos Development Bank. Supported promotion of LDB in joining the China-ASEAN Inter-bank Association. Liaised with other CDB branches to jointly develop, evaluate and manage projects in Laos. Responsible for two potassium salt mining projects totalling USD 260million borrowed by large Chinese enterprises in Laos. Worked with other banks in managing the transaction including with ICBC (Vientiane Branch). Worked on China’s first foreign aid financial infrastructure project to build the Laos System for Banking Cards Information.
