I am working as Process Specialist in Cell Culture Technical Development in the Gene Therapy Unit of Roche in Penzberg.
I am working in upstream on cell culture process development.
During my master's thesis at Sartorius I was working in corporate research on intensified fed-batch cultivations of mammalian cells. We investigated cultivation approaches in the ambr15 and ambr250 multi parallel bioreactor systems.
I worked on a project on stress-induced major depressive disorder (MDD) in the team Brain Microcircuits in Psychiatric Diseases (BMP). My project focused on the initial adaptation of primary cell culture protocols to our lab, which required me to work independently and gain experience in cell culture, immunocytochemistry and several metabolic assays.
I spent my practical semester at the Biomedical Research Centre of the University of British Columbia. During this internship I contributed to research on experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), which is a mouse model of multiple sklerosis. I gained hands-on experience in primary cell isolation, flow cytometry (FACS) and various commonly used lab techniques.
