I am a Service Architect and Project Lead for Bosch's real-time data streaming platforms. I own the technical roadmap for our central Kafka and Flink-based system, which processes billions of messages daily and serves as the data backbone for the company. My current focus is implementing an AIOps solution to enable Self-Healing and Self-Maintenance capabilities. This project is targeted at reducing manual operational effort by a double-digit percentage, resulting in faster incident response times and a lower on-call burden for our teams. My background is in hands-on engineering. I previously built the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) framework that automated our initial global platform rollout and established the international "follow-the-sun" team required to provide 24/7 operational support. I enjoy solving complex architectural challenges and leading teams to deliver solutions at a global scale.
As the Service Architect and Project Lead, I provide the strategic technical leadership for Bosch's real-time Data Streaming Platforms, built on Apache Kafka and Flink. My focus is on evolving this platform, which acts as the central nervous system for the Bosch Group by handling billions of messages per day across tens of thousands of data entities to deliver critical information in real-time and at a global scale. My primary responsibilities are organized around these key pillars: ▸ Architectural Vision & Strategy I own the long-term architectural roadmap and define the future technical direction for Bosch's data platforms, a strategy informed by continuously scouting new technologies. A key part of this vision is to dramatically improve efficiency and reduce manual effort by a double-digit percentage. I am achieving this by architecting and driving the adoption of AIOps solutions that enable Self-Healing and Self-Maintenance capabilities for our world-wide Data Streaming Platforms. This entire approach is fundamental to establishing our platform as the resilient and cost-effective data backbone for the entire company. ▸ Customer Project Leadership As the technical project lead, I am directly responsible for the team's success and the successful delivery of customer project work packages within our agile development framework. I guide the team to ensure our projects solve complex business challenges, connecting everything from manufacturing plants and data centers to the cloud across the Bosch landscape. ▸ Team Mentorship & Enablement I actively mentor fellow engineers across our three specialized sub-teams (SRE, Customer Support, and Projects) on solution architecture and design best practices.
As Agile Coach and Project Lead, I held a dual leadership role for a specialized international operations team, which supported our globally scaled, Kafka-based Data Streaming Platforms. This organization was structured into Customer Support, SRE, and Project teams. ▸ As the Agile Coach for the entire ~15-person organization, I was responsible for implementing and refining our agile framework. I coached our distributed, international teams on best practices to optimize the workflow and delivery for the complex, 24/7 operations of our data platforms. ▸ As the Project Lead, I led our strategic consulting team. Our mission was to advise business units across the global Bosch group on how to best leverage our data streaming capabilities and to lead technical projects focused on integrating their systems with our Kafka platform and its ecosystem.
In my role as Global Technical Lead, I provided the operational and strategic leadership required to scale our data platform into a 24/7 mission-critical service for Bosch worldwide. ▸ Operational Leadership: I architected and owned the operational strategy to ensure high availability and stability for our streaming platforms worldwide, cementing them as a reliable 24/7 service. ▸ Global Team Building: I built a distributed, "follow-the-sun" engineering team from the ground up to provide continuous support. I personally led the technical hiring and interview process to establish our teams in India, China, Brazil, Germany, and the U.S. ▸ Customer Adoption: I drove global platform adoption by owning the technical onboarding process, enabling business units across Bosch to successfully leverage our data streaming capabilities.
As a consultant in the Big Data & Analytics practice, I designed and implemented cutting-edge data solutions for leading international clients, primarily in the banking and automotive sectors. My focus was on architecting real-time streaming platforms and leveraging big data technologies to solve complex business challenges. ▸ Enterprise Streaming Architecture: Led the design and implementation of large-scale, enterprise-wide streaming platforms using Apache Kafka. This work supported mission-critical use cases, including real-time fraud detection for international banks and high-volume data pipelines for automotive leaders. ▸ DevOps & Infrastructure as Code: I implemented a comprehensive Infrastructure as Code strategy to automate the deployment of real-time streaming applications. By leveraging tools like Ansible within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), I enabled efficient, repeatable, and version-controlled delivery of critical data infrastructure. ▸ Predictive Analytics & Data Science: Executed predictive maintenance projects for premium automotive clients. Utilizing SAP HANA, SQL, and R, my work focused on analyzing sensor data to accurately forecast equipment failures and optimize maintenance schedules. ▸ Full-Stack Application Development: Developed custom, data-driven applications and proofs-of-concept. This included building real-time telemetry dashboards with Node.js and REST APIs, as well as creating bespoke UI components for SAP Design Studio to enhance data visualization capabilities.
On a strategic assignment to establish MHP's Big Data practice in the U.S., I led the technical and business foundation for its market entry. My role encompassed three core responsibilities: ▸ Technical Foundation: I designed and implemented a scalable Big Data Platform from the ground up to serve as the core technical infrastructure for the new practice. ▸ Business Development: I actively supported client acquisition and business development efforts by identifying new, high-value, data-driven use cases for potential customers in the U.S. market. ▸ Team Enablement & Training: I served as the lead trainer for the newly formed local teams, creating and delivering curricula on Real-Time Data processing and the Big Data ecosystem to build long-term, internal expertise.
As an Agile Project Lead, I guided engineering teams in delivering projects for external industry partners. My role was to bridge the gap between academic theory and business application by overseeing the full project lifecycle, from client requirements to final delivery. I was accountable for project planning, agile coaching, and the technical mentorship necessary to create high-quality, value-driven software solutions.
For nearly three years, I owned the full software lifecycle for two key applications. I developed and operated a Java and SQL-based access control system that integrated directly with physical sensors and electronic locking hardware. Additionally, I built and maintained a database-driven application to manage the institute's media and equipment lending process.
