Greater Rostock Region
I hold a degree in Biology and Aquaculture from the University of Rostock (Germany). In my thesis, I examined the influence of trace elements on growth and coloration of scleractinian corals in ex-situ coral farming. During my studies, I volunteered for a conservation organization (SECORE International, Inc.) restoring coral reefs in the Caribbean using sexual coral reproduction. Furthermore, as a former employee of the German Oceanographic Museum (Stralsund, Germany), I worked intensively on the taxonomy of scleractinian corals of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. Now, I am the founder and manager of an ex-situ coral farm in Germany specialized in breeding corals for scientific purposes and the marine ornamental trade (Coralaxy GmbH, Bentwisch, Germany).
