Frankfurt Rhine-Main Metropolitan Area
My name is Johannes Armbrust, and I am passionate about connecting legal systems, cultures, and innovation. I have passed both state law examinations in Germany (Assessor). Currently, I work on-site as a Legal Advisor at the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where I provide advisory services within the Financial Centre, Business Development, and Start-up Support Department. In addition, I am pursuing a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Speyer University and am enrolled in an advanced remote study program in Japanese law. I studied law at Philipps University of Marburg, specializing in corporate law, capital markets law, and banking law. During my studies, I began learning Japanese and participated in Meiji University's "Law in Japan” Program. I also co-founded the Legal Tech Lab Marburg e.V., offering students opportunities to deepen their knowledge in legal tech and digital law through practical courses and events. Additionally, I completed postgraduate studies in administrative sciences at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer, with a focus on platform regulation and e-justice. With academic roots in both German and Japanese law, I bring a comparative legal perspective to my work. My main interests lie at the intersection of public law, civil law, digital transformation, and legal tech. I am actively engaged in fostering dialogue between Germany and Japan through my role on the board of the German-Japanese Society Frankfurt. Whether through academic research, public speaking, or cross-border collaboration, I aim to contribute to a more connected, innovative and future-ready legal landscape in Japan and Germany.
