Vienna, Vienna, Austria
I studied mathematics and computer science at the TU in Vienna, where I graduated in 1980 and was then an assistant professor in the field of stochastics and data science. From 1986 I joined a software company in Munich as a developer, architect and project manager for software systems in the areas of transport, logistics, production planning and financial services. In January 1998, I founded ANECON with two partners, and in the following two decades the company has grown to a size of almost 200 employees with branches in Austria and Germany. We have been able to lead complex software projects to success, introduce innovations and use agile methods to make the design and implementation process more flexible and improve quality assurance by new testing methods. The goal is always to generate real customer benefits. By selling the company to Nagarro in January 2018, we have secured the long-term growth course we had embarked on up to that point and created the opportunity to carry out innovative projects in a globally active company. Since the end of 2020, I have retired from the management of Nagarro and work as a business angel and investor for innovative start-ups by supporting them with entrepreneurial experience, business networks and investment. The portfolio of my investments includes a dozen companies from the high-tech environment (AI, data science and digitalisation in the areas of finance, health, logistics and real property).
