I'm passionate about building 0 to 1: - I built the Finance function at Magic Eden (a leading NFT marketplace) as one of the first employees. - I was the first non-engineering hire at Truv (an open finance platform) where I owned Finance and Operations. - I launched Uber in Frankfurt (Germany), and - while at Uber - worked on four different continents (Europe, Africa, Australia & North America) with a variety of responsibilities and leadership experiences. I have over 10 years of experience in finance, operations, and strategy, spanning multiple industries, geographies, and stages of growth and an MBA from IESE in Barcelona.
First Finance hire at Magic Eden. • Created Finance function from scratch: Implemented systems, processes, reporting, and controls to build a reliable and effective Finance function. • Hired and led team to bring accounting in house. • Closed 2 VC funding rounds in short succession (Series A and Series B). • Managed cap table and investor reporting. • Managed treasury in fiat and crypto safely through FTX and SVB crises while providing stable returns. • Partnered closely with other corporate functions (particularly Legal and People) on cross-functional initiatives. • Worked closely with outside tax advisors to ensure accurate returns. • Led budgeting process, collaborating closely with business teams and founders.
One of the first employees at Truv leading Finance and Operations as well as general corporate functions reporting directly to the CEO. • Led implementation of global performance management system for 8k+ employees, the org’s highest priority project for H1 2018 • Managed cross-functional and global alignment process and roll-out to all regions: EMEA, APAC, LATAM, US&C • Owned financial model and structuring of equity/cash award for 10k+ frontline employees globally ahead of IPO • Led 2020 Financial Planning project for CommOps globally with a budget of >$1B • Drafted charter, strategy, new team structure, and engagement model for Global Support Content Team
Greenlight provides in-person support for drivers and is a major conversion channel for new drivers. • Built Greenlight organization in Australia and New Zealand; set up org design, strategy, capabilities, and integrated with Community Operations to provide first-class support to fast-growing base of drivers on Uber and Uber Eats • Managed Greenlight analytics for all of Australia and New Zealand, including weekly reporting and dashboard creation • Led Greenlight operations in Perth, including owning operational performance and financial metrics • Managed and trained team of 4 employees (all got promoted in 1-2 years) and 25 contractors (many converted to full time) • Oversaw initiatives to improve training / onboarding and knowledge sharing of customer support experts, improve service quality, increase financial transparency & performance, and reduce friction in the driver onboarding process
The Nomad program places experienced, high-performing team members in fast-growing markets to help solve their toughest problems. • Optimized Partner Support Center operations. In three months, increased driver conversion, reduced average wait times from >20min to ~3min at lower costs, onboarded >400 new drivers to double weekly trips • Trained and mentored two new Operations Managers; and managed team of 7 contractors
