Was part of the original team that launched Rockstar Energy Drink in 2001. During his 18 year tenure at Rockstar, Joe was the Executive Vice President of Sales and Distribution, overseeing Distributor relationships, the internal Rockstar sales organization and National Account coverage. Some of the distributor partners he worked with over the years were Southern WIne & Spirits, Dr. Pepper Snapple Group (KDP), Coca-Cola Enterprise and Pepsi Bottling Company. Expertise includes successful corporate leadership role with strength in P&L management, sales, sales training, people discovery and development, and brand/product distribution, Business Strategy, Marketing, Innovation, Branding, Product Development, Industry Compliance, Strategic Negotiation and Contracts with Distributors/Retailers. Extensive experience and success at identifying and establishing distribution partners in North America. Deep understanding of consumer brands, distribution networks and retail partners throughout the United States and Canada. Prior to Rockstar, Joe was involved in various political campaigns and initiatives including Campaign Manager for California Governor, Gavin Newsom’s 2001 San Francisco Supervisor Campaign. Before politics, Joey was involved in the entertainment industry working for Don Johnson as an Executive Assistant for the television show Nash Bridges. For over 17 years, I led sales and distribution at Rockstar Energy Drink as a part of the original launch team and helped negotiate national agreements with some of the largest brands in the world including Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, Coca-Cola/Coca-Cola Enterprises, and Pepsi Co. / Pepsi Bottling Company. I helped grow the Rockstar team from a small beverage startup to become the #3 global energy drink brand. At Rockstar, I led an executive team of 14 Vice Presidents & Regional Managers. I also oversaw all components of sales & distribution including our national chain programs and agreements, distributor incentives, distribution-based growth drivers and share increase efforts.
I helped design and implement campaign strategies to raise funds and awareness. I coordinated fund raising events and acted as liaison between candidate and his constituency. I also managed our public relations between campaign and the media.
For 2 years, I assisted in the pre-production, shooting, and post-production on network television show "Nash Bridges". As a part of the group, I routinely managed communication between Executive Producer and department heads - and also managed the production office at sound stages on Treasure Island HQ. During my time, I proofread drafts, tracked script revisions, oversaw scheduling, phone, travel, and general office management.
