We provide a safe, private space to discuss problems like stress, harassment, or conflicts, offering support, advice, and guidance on potential solutions while remaining bound by professional secrecy, only acting with a “clients” permission unless you're in serious danger.

      The Directorate for Relations with National Parliaments advises the political bodies, Members and the secretariat of the European Parliament in their institutional cooperation and legislative dialogue with the national Parliaments. It provides support for interparliamentary activities, contributes to the implementation of the Treaty provisions on interparliamentary cooperation in the EP and provides expertise throughout the legislative cycle and other EP political competences. The Legislative Dialogue Unit aims to strengthen, support and promote the cooperation with national Parliaments on the legislative level in key areas, such as scrutiny and subsidiarity. It is mainly responsible for the political and legislative dialogue with national Parliaments. It plans, coordinates and organises interparliamentary meetings at committee level and interparliamentary conferences. It also ensures the monitoring of the subsidiarity check, and the follow-up with rapporteurs and committees of the implementation of Protocol No 2 on the application of the principles of subsidiarity and proportionality. Furthermore, it aims to strengthen the dialogue between EP and national parliaments by setting up topic-specific dialogues between members of parliaments on key legislative files. The team consists of 12 people.

    The Congressional European Parliamentary Initiative (CEPI) program facilitates the exchange of ideas and experiences among senior staff of the German Bundestag and European Parliament with U.S. counterparts. In recent years, CEPI has also invited private sector individuals from Germany and the U.S. to participate alongside government staffers and elected officials. CEPI provides participants exposure to legislative processes, policy formulation, and political and institutional challenges in the United States and Europe. Past CEPI fellowships convened around a wide range of topics. In recent years, CEPI fellows discussed e-governance, global migration, cybersecurity, and other topics ranging from anti-terrorism to energy and natural resources. CEPI 2019 focuses on the digital economy. The 2019 program takes a holistic approach to the digital economy and covers a wide range of policy topics, including clean tech, ag tech, privacy and data flows, and the role of trade agreements in regulating e-commerce.

  • Alumni International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP) at U.S. Department of State

    Launched in 1940, the IVLP seeks to build mutual understanding between the United States and other nations through professional visits to the United States for current and emerging foreign leaders. Each year over 4,500, IVLP participants from all over the world are selected by U.S. embassies to travel to the United States to meet and confer with their professional counterparts. Through these encounters, they gain a greater understanding of the cultural and political influences in U.S. society and enjoy a first-hand experience of the United States, its people and its culture. Visitors represent government, politics, the media, education, nongovernmental organizations, the arts, public health, international security, business and trade, and other fields. This IVLP was conducted from November 25 to December 5, 2018 and candidates were selected by the US Department of State. The programme focussed on data protection, privacy and new technologies. Visits and meetings were scheduled in Washington, San Francisco, Silicon Valley and Sacramento.
