Done stuff in startups, venture capital, and even the corporate innovation (gasp) hustle with DBS. Currently at Sea where I work on ops and partnership stuff. Squeezing by with whatever HTML, JS, and Node skills I've managed to pick up.
Managing group-level partnerships with large tech company partners. Cultivating strong relationships for incident resolution and participation in exclusive initiatives and programs. Worked closely with Apple and Google to manage policy-related issues when it came to ensuring our apps were compliant with their policies. Worked across a wide range of products including Youtube (eSports), Cloud, Ads, Maps, payments and more. Maintained close relationship with Meta on commerce partnerships and Whatsapp alongside more traditional ad products.
Filling in the gaps in the company through special projects. Took on the group's A2P and notifications service product - working on both technical and commercial aspects of the role. Scaled as SMS notification grew through the pandemic while enabling additional channels like Whatsapp and Voice. Negotiated with aggregators and partners for reduced rates and fraud mitigation costs. Automated weekly/monthly reporting of costs through Sheets and Appscript. Eventually assisted with the handover process to the Group Infra team for ongoing management of costs.
Startups have cool technology, DBS needs cool technology. The Startup Xchange facilitates the entire life cycle of working with startups to implement proof of concept projects for DBS. This means evaluating the challenge statements from the business units all the way to working with technical units so we can get the project done.
Developer relations guy for DBS's API and Open Banking initiatives over at dbs.com/dbsdevelopers. That means establishing meaningful partnerships while creating tools and materials to help developers get started on the APIs. Within the bank, I collaborate with both business and technical teams to create cool new products. We also make videos for our partners, promoting them and our APIs. Boots on the ground with our portfolio companies from the Entrepreneur First program - helping them with everything from pricing strategy, to customer acquisition and their fundraising process.
Planned and executed accelerator programs in our portfolio. I was also involved in the full range of investment functions - from due diligence, to portfolio and returns reporting.
Conducted research and due diligence on tech companies in the Bay Area and Greater China between Series Seed and Series C. Performed due diligence through market research, team research, and calculating exit valuations to write investment memorandums. Wrote the investment memorandum for three successfully funded deals in the firm's new Fund VIII
Defining and mapping the topology in market areas of interest through search query generation. Putting the spotlight on both the big winners and the diamonds in the rough through the manipulation of investment data in Microsoft Excel. Using article count and social sharing metrics to highlight important news articles. Using crawlers to acquire data that can be formatted for analysis through Excel macros.
