I've been in solar for every single day of my career - 18 years and counting. Started at the Department of Energy in 2008. Back then, the loan programs office was writing the playbook for deploying billions in cleantech funding. We funded some of the first utility-scale solar projects and the Tesla facility in Fremont. But I wanted to build, not just fund. So in 2016, I left government to start Ipsun Solar with my co-founder, Hervé. Grew it from zero to $12M in revenue with 60+ employees. Residential rooftops, commercial projects. We even installed solar at the Constitution Center on the National Mall. The whole time, one thing bugged me: Our customers would disappear into manufacturer apps the moment we turned their systems on. We'd lose the relationship we'd spent months building. They wouldn't even remember who installed their system. We were spending $907 to acquire each new customer, while 2,500+ existing ones sat idle. That's the problem Sunvoy solves. But there was a bigger reason I left construction for software. I could grow the installation business to $50M and help a few thousand more homeowners go solar. Or I could build a platform that powers the world's largest installers and reach hundreds of thousands of homes through them. The choice was obvious. Software scales the mission in a way construction never can. It's a post-install platform that monitors 130,000+ solar systems globally. Built by installers, for installers who want to own their customer relationships for 30 years, not 30 days. Since selling Ipsun Solar in April 2024, we've helped 100+ solar companies grow revenue from the customers they already have: → More referrals: $500M+ generated to date → Fewer service calls: the right tickets reaching the right people → Recurring revenue: built on an existing customer base, not a blank slate One of our customers went from 34 referrals to 96 in a single year. 284% increase. Same customers, better system. The secret isn't complicated. Keep customers in your ecosystem, not manufacturer apps. If you want more referrals, fewer service calls, and recurring revenue from your existing customers — email [email protected] or connect with a note: "solarcoaster."
