I began in education in 1988 as a lab instructor/teaching assistant. I later spent 13 years as a classroom teacher in mathematics and science at the secondary level before transitioning to the position of district level instructional coach serving a variety of middle and high schools with instructional and curriculum support in mathematics and science. Over the past several years I have worked extensively with the Indiana Department of Education on standards and assessment, including serving on item review panels for the ADP Algebra 2 test, the cut score advisory panel for Algebra ECA and 6th grade science assessment, the PARCC Educator Leader Cadre, the IN EQuIP team, the Common Core State Standards advisory panel, the advisory panel for Algebra 1 ECA blueprint, the sensitivity and bias committee for 6th grade science, and the development committee for the Indiana College and Career Ready standards. I have also been a question writer for various Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 state assessments. For the past seven years I worked as a curriculum developer for Eureka Math.
