My great relationship with customers has allowed me to quickly become one of the highest rated and reviewed tutors out of thousands on the site. • Cash Management Analyst at BlackRock
    Jun 2018 - Aug 2019 · 1 yr 3 mos

During my third year of university I worked on an Industrial Placement with BlackRock's Cash Management, running internal and external reports as well as onboarding clients to a new online portal. The exposure to lots of data, client interaction and technology put me at the heart of one of the most dynamic and fast-growing businesses of the world's largest asset manager. My time with the team coincided with Money Market Fund Reform which transformed the industry, and I benefitted from being with the team before, during and after the process. This insight taught me about how Money Market Funds operate, and assisting the Product Strategy team in more qualitative reporting has helped me to understand why certain decisions are made. In addition to my day to day tasks I involved myself in leveraging technology and the scale of the firm to automate the reporting process, in order to reduce risk as well as giving myself more time to work with others in the Cash team and across the company. I spent the final four weeks of my placement with the BlackRock Portfolio Analytics and Solutions (BPAS) team, where I helped to improve the quality and automation of new and existing projects. This also gave me an appreciation for the needs of a more diverse range of BlackRock's clients across several asset classes, adding to the knowledge of Cash Management I had picked up in previous months.

  • Reinstater at M & S Water Services (Utilities) Limited
    Jun 2016 - Sep 2016 · 4 mos

I worked as part of a small team to restore water access to various places such as homes and schools that had faced leaks, learning several new skills in a short amount of time. Teamwork and time management were essential, as well as customer service when working at people's homes.

  • GCSE/AS Maths tutor at Self-Employed
    Jan 2015 - Sep 2016 · 1 yr 9 mos

I tutored friends from the year below me while at sixth form. As time went on, word spread and I was able to tutor every day after school, sometimes with multiple students at once. This, like my current role at mytutor, required time management and communication skills. It also required the ability to market myself to people, as I didn't have a website or a list of reviews to speak for me. It was especially rewarding to help struggling students to pass their GCSE Maths, and I helped many students to meet and some to surpass their target grades at GCSE and AS.
