As a Senior Clinical Trials Assistant at NHS, I oversee the running of numerous trials, from the consent process to the transmission of results. I compile and communicate data from our site to the relevant project managers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. I also train new staff on the processes involved in ongoing trials and provide support for any issues they may have. I graduated from the University of Reading with a BA in Modern Languages, majoring in French and Spanish, in 2021. I have a strong interest in languages and cultures, and I have developed communication, organization, and charity work skills through my studies and extracurricular activities. I have also achieved a Gold Arts Award, Care Certificate and an Edward Jenner level 0 certification, demonstrating my creativity and commitment to learning and development. I am motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of medical research and the improvement of patient outcomes.
Maintaining the running of numerous trials through overseeing the consent process, the booking of relevant imaging through to the transmission of result. Creating proformas and spreadsheets to log all data for ongoing trials. Aiding site setup of upcoming trials. Compiling and communicating data from our site to the relevant project managers in a timely fashion. Ensuring all recruitment and diagnostic paperwork is up to date ready for use. Using Edge to upload recruitment figures at regular intervals to ensure data is up to date. Training new members of staff on the processes involved in ongoing trials and being available for any issues they may have. Managing results data and ensuring a quick communication of these to patients by working closely with other departments. Being the first contact in assisting participants with their needs and responding to any questions or issues asked by phone, email or face to face. Attending regular meetings with other sites and with sponsors to maintain a line of communication and to assist in implementing improvements. Assisting in site set up for new trials and liaising with companies to ensure a smooth transition to recruitment. Documenting costs in accordance to trial protocols and invoicing for correct payment on a regular basis. Collaborating with different departments to undertake vaccine trials.
Taking consent for patient trials, answering phones and emails to book appointments, booking in patients on the front desk, logging consent information for the trials
Assisting customers with purchases and providing appropriate customer service. Organising stock and working deliveries within my department whilst maintaining stocked shelves in a fast paced environment within a flagship store. Providing mentorship to new colleagues and assisting at the checkouts. Assisting other departments with their deliveries and maintaining the appearance of the shelves across the whole store.
Elected the Course Representative for German for the year 2020-21. Collecting feedback from the students across multiple classes about the course and presenting it back to the heads of department, maintaining contact within my cohort to make sure any concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
Creating educational materials to teach music and radio broadcasting to groups of young people from ages 4 to 16. Assisting in community classes for adults with learning difficulties. Promoting upcoming events through numerous mediums including posting leaflets and maintaining the company social media. Setting up mixing equipment for music festivals and assisting in the running of music sets.
