I’m Jodie Herbert — a strategic marketer, business builder, and neurodiversity specialist with 30+ years’ experience leading organisations, campaigns, and teams across government, IT, events, disability, and B2B sectors.I bring together commercial leadership and lived experience.Alongside my business career, I’m a parent in a neurodivergent family and have spent years navigating education systems, health services, disability support, employment pathways, and advocacy — not theoretically, but in real life, under real pressure. That fundamentally shapes how I work, lead, and build.Professionally, I’m a builder: of strategies, of teams, and of systems that actually work for humans — not just on paper. I’ve led cross-functional marketing teams like internal agencies, delivered high-impact campaigns across multiple locations, managed rebrands and post-acquisition integrations, and built stakeholder trust through clarity, consistency, and follow-through.My background spans digital and traditional marketing, but my strength is translation — turning complexity into action. I’m energised by work that sits at the intersection of strategy, behaviour, and outcomes, particularly where systems break down for people who don’t fit neat assumptions.I hold formal qualifications in psychology and business, and have deep experience working alongside disability services, inclusive employment, and psychology contexts. I’ve founded supported-employment initiatives for neurodivergent young adults, worked directly with families and carers, and supported people navigating work, funding systems, and organisational barriers.I bring all of this together to guide adults and their families living with neurodiversity, autism, and ADHD — working alongside psychologists and coaching professionals to support practical implementation, follow-through, and real-world outcomes beyond the therapy room.I’ve authored books on human-centred sales and the future of work in an AI-driven economy — grounded not just in theory, but in what happens when policy, technology, and human capacity collide. What I bring is a rare combination:senior business and marketing leadership, lived neurodivergent family experience,psychology-informed thinking, disability sector and advocacy insight, and a relentless focus on execution, not just intention.I lead with empathy, think systemically, and act pragmatically. If you’re working in complex environments where people, performance, and policy intersect — and you need someone to hold all of that without losing momentum — I’m open to conversation.
Ability Pathways supports the part most systems don’t. We work with neurodivergent and ADHD adults on follow-through — the practical work that happens after therapy, diagnosis, or advice, when consistency and decision-making are hardest. Our service sits between psychology, allied health, employment services, and real life. We are not clinical. We are implementation. Through structured 1-on-1 support, advocacy, and coaching, we help people translate recommendations into everyday action: systems, routines, workplace navigation, and decisions that hold up under pressure. More than support work, the Ability Pathways model treats adaptability and follow-through as a strategic process. We are your motivation, your capacity building, your energy when you run out. We strengthen your individual capacity for progress between therapy appointments, while building resilience in Australia’s workforce pipeline. Supported implementation creates real progress.
As the author of Mastering the 3rd Dimension: The Role of Human Connection in Sales, and keynote speaker for 3D Sales, I lead a movement to bring authenticity, trust, and human connection back into the sales process—where it belongs. My work challenges the outdated sales funnel and flips the script on AI-led automation. Through speaking engagements, workshops, and advisory sessions, I help sales teams, marketers, and business leaders shift from transactional tactics to 3-dimensional selling that prioritises Insight, Influence, and Time. In my keynotes and masterclasses, I explore: Why sales has lost its impact in an AI-saturated world How to break through 'Silent Ghosting' with emotionally resonant outreach The neuroscience of trust and how Time opens the door to conversion How to use disruption, personalisation, and deep engagement to win complex deals And how to build scalable systems that still feel human I also developed the 3D Spiral Sales Cycle and the Hourglass Funnel Model—tools that reframe outreach and nurture through a relationship-first lens. My speaking style is equal parts Eugene Schwartz and Judith Lucy: persuasive, data-backed, and just cheeky enough to make even the most seasoned execs lean in. Whether I’m helping SaaS founders stand out in noisy markets, or coaching enterprise teams on how to build trust before automation, my mission is clear: Human connection isn’t a “nice to have” in sales—it’s the only thing that still works.
At Music for Canberra, I led the marketing and fundraising function for one of the ACT’s most inclusive and community-connected arts organisations—one that brings people of all ages and abilities together through the power of music. The organisation delivers a wide range of programs, from group instrumental tuition and youth orchestras to mixed ability classes for individuals living with disability. My role was to amplify this mission, increase visibility, and help grow participation, partnerships, and funding. Campaign Development & Promotion: Developed and executed marketing campaigns to promote programs including the Canberra Youth Orchestra, children's choirs, adult ensembles, and mixed-ability classes. Efforts included content strategy, event promotion, and stakeholder engagement across digital and print channels. Community Engagement & Accessibility: Shaped messaging to reflect the inclusive nature of the organisation, ensuring that diverse audiences—including those living with disability—felt welcomed, represented, and empowered to participate. Fundraising Strategy: Contributed to the design of fundraising appeals and sponsor outreach campaigns, aligning impact stories with donor motivations and funding priorities. Digital Content & Social Media: Created engaging content to showcase the vibrancy of Music for Canberra’s programs and events, strengthening the organisation’s voice and reach online. This role brought together my strengths in values-driven communication, community storytelling, and inclusive marketing—and reaffirmed my belief in the power of creative expression to build confidence, connection, and opportunity.
Helping people with disability, injury and health conditions prepare for, secure and thrive in meaningful employment. At The Personnel Group, I combine 30+ years of marketing expertise with lived experience as a parent of two young adults with disability to create tailored job plans, build work capacity, expand employer networks, and open doors to inclusive opportunities that transform lives.
