With over two and a half years as Project Director and Principal Advisor at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, I focus on implementing climate-resilient border economies in collaboration with IGAD across seven member states. My work emphasizes resilience and climate change adaptation through cross-border coordination, disaster risk management and regional digitalization efforts. Leveraging expertise in Climate-Resilient Border Economies (CRBE), innovation development, and communication, I develop practical frameworks that address the challenges faced by agro-pastoralists and transhumance communities affected by climate change. My mission is to advance integrated solutions that align trade systems, governance, and digital infrastructure to foster sustainable adaptation and peacebuilding in the Horn of Africa.

SomReP Somalia Resilience Program (SomReP) Consortium: • Management responsibilities for the program as Acting Chief of Party and as Deputy Chief of Party in Somalia and Kenya for a consortium focusing on: Resilience & Livelihood, Humanitarian Respone, DRR and capacity building for government. • Contributing to the SomReP Strategy Phase II development and WVI’s overall goals to build to climate resilience • Close cooperation with federal and state institutions (ministries and agencies) on Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Management. • Supervision of the establishment of a coordinated Early Warning / Early Action System between communities, federal states, SomReP, WFP and Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management • Leading the fundraising, proposal development, sub-grant award, management & reporting functions • Supervision of Programs staff, Finance staff and the Adminstrative support functions • Developing and leading new innovative programming approaches for climate resilience building • Successful positioning and expansion of professional relationships with national and international partners • Planing and coordination, securing and increasing project quality and impact • Development of a new community driven resilience approach with diaspora funding, cash-transfer component and a DRR / Contigency Fund model and a community social safety-net component (CDRR). • Roll-out of the Somali Response Innovation Lab with a strong focus on humanitarian and resilience innovation • External representation of SomReP, Government and International Relations Management, developing and negotiating agreements and MOU’s with regional & national governments
