I’m Joey, and I am a Payment Operations Specialist at Deel. I spend my days making sure payments and payroll move accurately across the APAC region, while teaching and testing AI tools to cut out the manual admin tasks. But if you look at my resume, it reads like two completely different people lived it. On the creative side, I've: - Managed weddings and floral concepts for high-end hotels in Singapore. - Designed and fabricated airport retail displays for global brands like Kipling and Eastpak. - Run the schedules and quality control for fast-paced creative design studios. On the operations side, I've: - Built a thriving coworking community of 300+ members from ground up. - Planned and executed corporate MNCs events for up to 2,000+ attendees. - Handled hundreds of high-volume digital insurance claims. - Handled the deadline-driven reality of APAC fintech payroll. There is no logical career ladder that connects floristry to fintech payroll. But to me, they require the exact same things: - Intense attention to detail - Finding my focus when things get chaotic - Caring deeply about the real people on the other side of the screen I don't use AI to replace the human element, that isn't my goal. I use it because I want to get rid of the clunky, repetitive admin tasks - like data entry, payments and manual reconciliation loops, so I can focus on the complex human problems that actually require critical judgment If you connect with me here, I share real talk across three things: - People: Highlighting the hard work and real stories behind the scenes. - Culture: My take on building community and navigating professional life, especially in remote settings and the future of work. - Ideas: Exploring the intersection of AI, design, and creativity, sharing my experiments and learnings and how these tools are shifting the way we think and work. I am an energetic person who loves good design, travel, nature, photography, food, and authentic people. Let’s connect! 📩 [email protected]
