      Current Projects: Project leader for Battery Materials Advanced Technology Program. Improving GE’s Durathon sodium metal halide (NaMx) battery performance, life and reliability by developing fundamental understanding of key (electro)chemical mechanisms and operational conditions. His team has pioneered both in-situ and ex-situ techniques for studying Durathon cells leading to improved designs and more robust service life predictions. Principal investigator for a 3-year $5.5MM NYSERDA-sponsored NY-BEST program by that brings together experts from four New York State universities and Brookhaven National Laboratory to develop enabling technologies for next generation NaMx batteries.
