I am a rising senior at Scripps College, having graduated as Valedictorian from Fort Bragg High School in 2023, a period during which I organized with my local GSA and worked at a nonprofit community garden. I am pursuing my bachelors in Sociocultural Anthropology, with a special focus on music cultures and minor in music, through which I can better understand culture through the lens of music as a signifier of personal and collective identities. This focus has led me to research the role of music in religious spaces, the history of Scripps College, and queer identity. I am also a vocalist and guitarist, the proud co-president of an on-campus musical group (the Ninth Street Hooligans), and a leader, working both in a community-building supervisory role at the Sallie Tiernan Field House and as a Press Assistant and print shop mentor for students working with the Scripps Press and its antique Vandercook printing presses. After I finish my bachelors in the spring of 2027, I will be following the trail of further opportunities in research and education.
