Duties: This engagement was a short, 80hr contract for me to assist project members at PPT on assignments which they were working on: - The first was to complete a 20hr data assessment on the accuracy and reliability of a Power BI Report for Value Logistics and to mitigate any issues raised through means of consultation with the Data Team in an effort to remediate. A full system analysis was conducted, 3 sprints were set up and collaboration took place across Data, QA and management from S2. Very fruitful interaction with many capable and willing participants. Handed over. Remediations continue and are now managed by those teams. - The second was to assess a transient issue in an AI recruitment platform. Solutions were devised for deployment readiness and testability. Environments were created and configured for use by the team. A full report was published on my findings offering possible areas for improvement. A sprint board was set up and work was completed on automated deployments, container orchestration, unit testing and CORS / environment management. Handed Over. Enhancements continue and are now managed by that team. There were several other projects and ideas discussed but I am not at liberty to share them.
Duties: Engaged at the John Lewis Partnership in London on behalf of Equal Experts UK via the SA BU and placed into the Tech Modernisation: App Mod Team in an operability capacity to assist with the modernisation and migration of on-prem resources to Google Cloud Platform. In this capacity I contributed to the design and delivery of Gatling performance tests and Terraform IaC for automated deployment of infrastructure through Azure DevOps using Azure Pipelines and GCP. Opportunities to work on serverless applications such as function apps and k8s also made the environment interesting and the project satisfying. Technologies: Java, Gatling, Python, Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes.
