Research Assistant at Imperial College London working in immunogenetics and immunity, with a focus on properdin (CFP) deficiency and alternative complement pathway dysfunction in infectious and inflammatory disease. Trained in virology and host–pathogen interactions, with hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture and transfection, molecular cloning and site-directed mutagenesis, immunoprecipitation, western blotting, ELISA, and reporter-based functional assays, alongside analysis of human clinical samples.
Focus on properdin (CFP) deficiency and alternative complement pathway dysregulation in infectious and inflammatory disease, with the aim of functionally characterising properdin variants. Work involves: - Designing and executing cell-based and biochemical assays to study properdin expression, oligomerisation, and function - Molecular cloning, mutagenesis, and protein expression in mammalian systems - Immunoprecipitation, western blotting, and ELISA - Handling and analysis of human clinical samples - Data analysis, experimental optimisation, and close collaboration with clinicians and researchers
Completed compulsory military service in the Republic of Korea Army and discharged as a Sergeant. Main post was Military Driver, but was also dispatched as an Army Interpreter to the Incheon International Airport during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
