  • Medical Laboratory Technician at LAB E EXPRESS SDN BHD

Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance. Perform routine and diagnostic tests, including ELISA, Full Blood Count and microscopy adhering to established protocols. Analyze and interpret test results, flagging abnormalities for further review.

  • Research Assistant at Newcastle University

A three-month undergraduate dissertation focused on investigating the impact of the ApcMin allele on innate inflammatory responses using a bone marrow-derived macrophage (BMDM) model. The project involved independent bone marrow isolation from ApcMin and wild-type murine models, followed by the differentiation, culture, and maintenance of primary BMDMs under sterile conditions. In vitro stimulation assays were designed and performed. Cytokine gene expression was quantified by qPCR to evaluate transcriptional responses associated with the ApcMin mutation. The project provided extensive hands-on experience in primary cell culture, murine tissue handling, aseptic techniques, RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, qPCR, molecular data analysis, experimental design, and immunology research.
