I currently head QuickHits—an dynamic and productive group in the Information Research org of BTS at AbbVie. We're focused on solving business-critical problems by rapidly developing software that allows the business to focus and transform their processes. We use Pipeline Pilot, Oracle, Angular, React, Vue and whatever other fabulous tools we come across as a framework for our RAD environment. We work across the R&D space: from early discovery to clinical development, operations, fiance. We gather requirements, design, build, and support our apps—our focus is on excellent UI/UX and delighting our customer base. We eschew traditional processes that get in the way of Getting Stuff Done! Our team is geographically diverse team with members on the west coast, east coast, and students at the University of Illinois Research Park (the AbbVie Innovation center). Our group is unique in that all our team members own the full projects—from working with the business to learn the problem and deciding if we can solve it---to the design and coding of the solution, to the release and support. AbbVie is a 50,000 people biopharmaceutical company focused on developing new products and new ways to help people manage some of the most serious health conditions. New title, but the same job---coming up with innovative solutions for AbbVie and then building the great software that supports them! Lots of stuff going on in the clinical and patient safety spaces!
