Led efforts to build the SaaS application civian.io which automates and productizes offerings from Ichor Strategies, a mission-driven consulting company. Responsible for coaching, managing, hiring, and firing on a team with four full-time engineers and multiple contractors. Accountable for overall architecture and technical design. Highlights: • Evolved technical practices and processes to transform a plucky prototype into a robust and reliable software product • Co-architected and led the implementation of our Big Data Platform, featuring scalable Apache Beam pipelines feeding a BigQuery Data Lake • Introduced rigor and quality to frontend and backend application architecture via code reviews, coaching, and direct contribution • Identified underperformers in existing team and streamlined engineering organization Wrote, Tested, and reviewed TypeScript, Java, and Python code
• Lead cross-functional initiative to integrate Conductor Application with ContentKing, an Application and team acquired by Conductor in Feb 2022 • Managed a Director of Engineering whose team was the first to work on productionizing AI/ML for recommendation generation in the Conductor Application Managed a Director of Engineering who led our new “Data Platform” team, with responsibilities including: • Building out a data lake with interoperable, canonical datasets Standardizing data collection and ETL pipelines across our various datasets • In total, led a globally distributed org of two leaders and 20 individual contributors Led various recruiting efforts, including hiring of Managers and Principal Engineers • Played a key role in technical due diligence discussions resulting in a $150M investment round

Individually contributed to a variety of projects using a variety of technologies at a small-but-plucky software development firm. Highlights: • Worked on Allcoast Media, a network of sportfishing community websites. Developed community/social features with hundreds of thousands of posts, users, and uploads. • Worked on SputeIt, a social media startup dedicated to online debating. Worked closely with founders and designers to create a novel social media application. • Worked on an unreleased photo sharing application for Bravest.com. Developed a rich frontend experience similar to Pinterest powered by a LAMP backend.
