About

Dr. Jim Henderson began his law enforcement and security career as a police officer in Santa Cruz, California, before transferring to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy sheriff. He later served as a special agent with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and then transitioned to the defense industry, where he worked in counterintelligence and managed security for classified government programs, projects, and operations both domestically and internationally. Henderson also volunteered as a police chaplain with the Aurora Police Department for over ten years. He concluded his professional career as the Director of Ethics and Compliance for the world's largest missile manufacturing company. For the past twenty years, Dr. Henderson has served as a member of the adjunct faculty at the University of Denver, teaching various courses, including human factors in security management and legal and ethical issues in security management. Throughout his 50-plus years of dedicated service to protecting people, property, operations, and teaching, he has held positions on the executive boards of InfraGard, the Industrial Security Working Group (ISWG), and the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Association (MELA). He has received numerous security and public service awards, including the FBI's highest civilian honor for Service in the Public Interest. He is a three-time recipient of the prestigious James S. Cogswell Award for security excellence from the United States Department of Defense, Defense Security Service (DSS). Henderson earned a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Regent University and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Organizational Leadership from the same institution. He also holds a master’s degree in applied communication from the University of Denver, attended Pepperdine University, earned a bachelor’s degree, Magna Cum Laude, in Public Administration and Criminal Justice from National University, and obtained an associate’s degree in Police Science from Palomar College. Dr. Henderson has also earned academic certificates from the Harvard Business School’s High-Potentials Leadership Program and Bentley University’s Managing Ethics in Organizations Program.
