Experienced Safety and Transportation Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the utilities industry. Skilled in Negotiation, Budgeting, Operations Management, Customer Service, Safety and Human and Organizational Performance. Strong operations professional with a BA focused in Political Science from UC Berkeley. My goal is to influence culture and drive continuous improvement in health, safety and wellness by utilizing human and organizational performance tools and skills. I lead teams and coach leaders that focuses on learning (not blaming people), which results in resilient organizations with reduced injuries and motor vehicle incidents. Accidents will happen, but the goal is to make sure organizations have the capacity to "fail safely" when something happens and people aren't seriously hurt. I work on redefining safety from something that is seen as a negative (the safety cop doing an observation in the field after an incident) to something that is positive (learning about how workers get their work done and focusing on when things go right). This creates trust and engagement between leaders and workforce.
In this leadership role, I manage PG&E's inbound freight transportation within our 70,000 square mile distribution network and serve as the safety officer for the 700+ employee Supply Chain/Materials organization. Responsibilities include overseeing $60m annual freight spend, management and compliance of carriers, TMS, freight auditing and payment services. Within the Materials department, my team is responsible for supporting operations in areas of safety, risk, compliance, auditing, records management, contractor safety, HSMS implantation and sustainment, causal investigations, standards and procedures, and packaging.
In this position I managed PG&E's vehicle and equipment pool and rental operations. I oversaw a team of 18 management and represented employees whose primary responsibilities were procuring rental vehicles and equipment, providing oversight and compliance of rentals and auditing and payment. Responsible for annual rental budget of $40m and 3000+ rentals on rent any given day. Additionally, was responsible for maintenance of 200+ light duty PG&E vehicles, daily parking operations and motor vehicle pool based in company headquarters in San Francisco.
Carroll Shelby Enterprises is an official distributor of Goodyear racing tires. In this position, I provided tire services (mounting, balancing, inventory management) at professional automotive races in the 11 western states. Served NASCAR, NHRA , IMSA, Indy and SCCA series.
