Oracle Specialist with a depth of experience in design, development and support. Principle skills in DBA, design and lead PL/SQL developer roles across the whole life-cycle, but also experienced in team leadership, release management and as a mentor developing skills in others for Oracle certifications. Experience also in Big Data technology (Cassandra).
Oracle lead for the company with responsibility for Oracle strategy and implementation. The role includes Consultancy, Design, Development, Implementation and Tuning of Oracle technology, and has proven skills working either at architectural level or down-with-the-data. Principle responsibility for the Oracle elements of extremely high volume transaction processing/BI application that is mainly used within the telecoms sector (providing fraud, credit, risk management and revenue assurance functionality) - Utilising wide range of Oracle technologies, including RAC, DataGuard, RMAN, Datapump, AQ, XMLDB, OLAP, OWM, Installs & Upgrades - Multi-platform deployment (including Linux, AIX, Solaris, HP-UX and Windows) - Cloud deployments - experience with AWS (IaaS, PaaS & DBaaS), Oracle Cloud - Local and customer hosted deployments Recently started to explore the opportunities provided by Big Data technologies, in particular Cassandra.
Started as C programmer working on major solutions in the Air Freight Industry. Progressed to specialise in Oracle Technologies focusing in both development and DB Administration. I was the Oracle Beacon for BT Global Services (the Systems Integration division) - this role was a point-of-contact for questions in this technology, and included initiatives such as leading groups to get individuals Oracle Certified.
