At UC San Diego Health - Moores Cancer Center, our team leverages advanced data modeling and R programming to improve cancer patient outcomes. Collaborating with esteemed researchers, I've contributed to significant studies, such as analyzing youth tobacco initiation, which informs public health strategies and insights of tobacco usage among youth and young adults. As a PhD student, I am deepening my expertise in biostatistics, preparing to solve complex health challenges. My goal is to harness statistical theory and methodologies to pioneer innovative research and drive impactful change in the medical field.
• Conducted statistical analysis on the association between past 12-month marijuana use and initiation to tobacco regular use among youth and young adults. • Collaborated with research team to assess the impact of baseline tobacco ever use status on progression to regular tobacco use. • Presented findings to Dr. Karen Messer and Dr. Dennis Trinidad at Moores Cancer Center.
• Conducted statistical analysis on initiation and progression of Wave 6 current regular tobacco usage among youth and young adults for the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) Study. • Utilized propensity score matching (PSM) to derive the average causal effect among treated individuals, comparing different tobacco use patterns. • Collaborated with renowned researchers at UC San Diego Health - Moores Cancer Center to redefine and summarize tobacco use patterns and contribute to public health research.

• Conducted fixed-effect and mixed-effect models in logistic regression using survey, lme4 packages in R to analyze cigarette smoking decline among US young adults from 2000-2019. • Assessed state effects over time and performed sequential model selections using LRT/AIC to determine the impact of state-level cigarette price and tobacco control expenditure. • Published research in BMJ Tobacco Control

Lectured 150 students each semester, designed Scratch-based programming courses(dancing robots, autopilot cars) and imparted the courses with a combination of programming, mathematics and life lessons using LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime, wrote school news, acted as a team leader in mathematics lesson preparation 2. Acted as the School Multimedia Designer including producing videos, pdf, and PowerPoint to illustrate materials in teaching, helped the Deputy Director of the Futian District Education Bureau prepare course materials 3.
