The animal production industry must evolve on solid scientific, ethical, and social foundations. Advancing towards more responsible systems is not an ideological choice, but a structural necessity to address the challenges our societies face today and in the future. There is no place for avoidable suffering: human or non-human. True progress can only be built on respect, evidence, and shared responsibility.
- Animal welfare audits: veterinarian responsible for certifying compliance with European animal welfare standards under the Welfare Quality (Welfair) standards for cattle and poultry. - Traceability audits under Welfare Quality (Welfair) standards. - Optional labeling audits in farms, slaughterhouses, cutting plants, feed mills, and egg factories. - Private specifications audits: IGPs, DOPS.
- Veterinary export certification: lead official veterinarian of "ABP Food Group - ABP Sturminster" responsible for veterinary export certification of products. - Food safety assurance: responsible for ensuring that processing plants and slaughterhouses comply with hygiene and food safety standards in food production, and verification of the HACCP plan. Participation in audits. - Leadership: responsible for coordinating, supervising, and training a team of hygiene inspectors. - Disease prevention: inspection of food animals and sampling for disease and residue surveillance. - Animal welfare: protection of animal welfare in slaughterhouses by supervising the handling of cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and poultry.
- Responsible for post-mortem inspection of products of animal origin, sealing products intended for human consumption, and seizing products that pose a risk to public health. - Disease control and sampling for the detection of transmissible encephalopathies. Sampling for the detection of residues of prohibited substances.
