(Previous title; Technical Director) The Algonquin Commons Theatre (ACT) is a state of the art venue that opened in the fall of 2012 on the Algonquin College Ottawa campus. Located in the Robert C. Gillett Student Commons (Building E), the ACT is owned and operated by the Algonquin Students’ Association. The primary purpose of the space is to host events such as live music, comedy, guest speakers, dance, theatre, and more! Some of the events hosted in the ACT over the past few years have included July Talk, Kip Moore, Lights, Machine Gun Kelly, Letterkenny Live, Bryan Callen, and even Gordon Lightfoot. The ACT has been used by the CBC for a live taping of This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and has played host to Saint Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre’s performance of Swan Lake. The ACT is proud to offer an assortment of events that complement the diversity and culture of Ottawa.
Located in the West End of Ottawa, the Algonquin Commons Theatre is a beautiful 700 seat auditorium that hosts an array of events and rentals. The Theatre is home to a variety of events including concerts, dance performances, comedy shows and many more!

Jess is an Ottawa based Stage Manager and Designer. Her work encompasses many areas; however, Stage Management, Props Design, and Scenic Painting are her primary focuses. She has worked with companies all across Canada such as The Great Canadian Theatre Company, The National Arts Center, Ship's Company Theatre, Odyssey Theatre, The Company of Fools and Western Canada Theatre; and is a resident stage manager at the Algonquin Commons Theatre. She studied at The Center for Opera Studies in Sulmona, Italy and Algonquin College`s Theatrical Arts program. She has worked on small stages, found spaces, touring shows, 30+ cast productions, intimate one-man shows, live music, stand up comedy, awards shows and even a Grey Cup!

The Progress Summit is the largest annual progressive politics conference in Canada. CCLA/GCTC LAWYER PLAY 2022: THE STING The lawyers are back and the con is on. 2022’s CCLA/GCTC Lawyer Play is The Sting, adapted from David Ward’s Oscar-winning screenplay by David Rogers. Will Hooker’s scheme pay off, or will Lonnegan get wise to the game? Find out on GCTC’s Main Stage, June 21 - 25, 2022. This year the fundraiser will also support Roger Neilson House, a local organization that provides palliative care and support to newborns, children, youth and their families. Previews are public performances before the official opening to allow the director, design team, cast, and crew to make small adjustments to the show that weren't found during rehearsals before the gala performances.
