In a nutshell, I'm Jess: 👉 Building brands, growing businesses and getting stuck in. 👉 Professional plate spinner. 👉 Serial improver of things. 👉 Marketing nerd (and not sorry about it) 🤘 👉 Team cheerleader 📣 👉 Avoider of buzzwords and unnecessary meetings. 👉 Firm believer that good marketing should actually do something. I work in marketing, also known (lovingly) as "the colouring-in department". In reality, I spend my time trying to get people to click things, read things, attend things and occasionally buy things. Oh, and make it look pretty. Or "Jess it up" as it's become known. Over the years, I've helped grow brands, build marketing functions, launch campaigns, run events, improve websites, work on UX, increase visibility and support businesses through periods of rapid growth. I've worked across pretty much every corner of marketing and genuinely enjoy the variety that comes with it. Variety is the spice of life, after all. I love the strategic side of marketing, but I'm not someone who wants to spend all day in meetings talking about ideas. I like building the plan, getting stuck into the execution and seeing the results, I've been doing this for a few years, I am always ready to roll my sleeves up. I'm naturally curious and always looking for ways to improve or streamline things. Whether that's a campaign, a process, a website or social media. Most of my best ideas arrive either whilst driving or in the shower. Apparently that's normal? One thing I've learned is that marketing works best when it isn't operating in a silo. I like understanding the wider business, what different teams need, what clients need and how marketing can support both. Getting people bought into marketing and the brand genuinely makes all the difference.
