I am a Professor of Psychology and the Principal Investigator of the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at The University of Texas at Austin. My research focuses on the development of cognitive control and academic skills during childhood and adolescence. By utilizing neuroimaging (fMRI, fcMRI, DWI) and behavioral assessments, my lab investigates how brain control networks respond to interventions, educational interruptions, and puberty. I have a particular interest in how atypical development—including ADHD and dyslexia—can illuminate the broader vulnerabilities of cognitive growth. I am one of the two faculty ombuds at UT, and upcoming graduate program director for the Psychology Department.
