A compassionate mental health recovery worker with over seven years' experience advocating for and supporting individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental health conditions. My own lived experience with mental health has fuelled my commitment to championing the rights, dignity, and recovery of those I work with. I am dedicated to using both my professional skills and personal insight to promote inclusion and empower individuals to engage with the community in a way that is meaningful to them.
Providing crisis support for individuals experiencing mental health challenges, offering a safe, non-judgemental space outside of hospital settings. Work includes 1:1 support, safety planning, and connecting people to ongoing community and clinical services. Promoting recovery, resilience and wellbeing.
Supporting individuals with severe and persistent mental illness through the Housing Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI) to recover in the community, identify their hopes and aspirations for the future, and working together to develop personalised recovery plans while empowering them to achieve their personal goals. Helping participants to maintain their tenancies, develop self-management skills, improve their quality of life and assisting with ongoing mental health recovery.
By utilising social media to connect with the community and promote my services, I successfully took on exciting floral projects including weddings and events, working closely with clients to bring their unique visions to life. I built strong relationships with flower growers at the Sydney Flower Markets, ensuring access to high-quality materials while managing client budgets. Additionally, I facilitated group and private classes, offering guidance and creating a safe, welcoming and interactive environment for all participants.
Demonstrated customer-centred communication, strong attention to detail and risk awareness, empathetic de-escalation skills, and a holistic, person-centred approach to care.
